With just two weeks remaining in the season, there are still a number of things that have yet to be decided. Seven of the ACC's 12 teams are still in contention for a first round bye in the ACC tournament. Two of those teams are NCAA tournament locks, and the other five have work to do. The roller coaster ride that is the ACC basketball season is almost at an end, but we still have to go through a few more twists and turns. Then we've got the ACC tournament. There is a lot of basketball yet to be played.

A Look Around the League...
North Carolina (26-2, 11-2)
North Carolina just keeps rolling along. They knocked off NC State 84-70 earlier in the week, and beat a good Wake Forest team 89-73 on Sunday night. The Tar Heels are playing like the best team in the ACC right now, and they still haven't gotten point guard Ty Lawson back from injury.
Once Lawson comes back from injury, this will be an extremely potent team that is capable of making a deep run in the NCAA tournament, perhaps even winning it all. Right now they are just focused on closing out the season strong and getting that #1 seed.
UNC gets the week off, then travels to Boston College on Saturday. With the way the Eagles are playing, that should be an easy win for he Heels.
Postseason: NCAA tournament lock
Duke (23-3, 10-2)
So much for Duke going undefeated in the ACC. The Blue Devils dropped back-to-back conference games, including a 96-95 setback at Miami on Wednesday. They were able to get better by playing their annual February out-of-conference matchup against Big East bottom feeder St. John's, whom they beat 86-56 on Sunday.
Duke proved in the last week that just like everyone else in the ACC, they are human, especially on the road. They will probably win their next three games and head into their regular season finale against UNC for the #1 seed in the ACC tournament.
Duke hosts Georgia Tech on Wednesday, and then they travels to NC State on Saturday. The Blue Devils still have a shot at a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
Postseason: NCAA tournament lock
Clemson (19-7, 7-5)
Clemson only played one game last week, and it was one horrible game. The Tigers suffered through a terrible shooting slump and lost at Florida State 64-55. Despite the loss, Clemson remains in third place in the ACC thanks to a Maryland team that appears to be playing its way out of the NCAA tournament.
The Tigers get Miami at home on Wednesday night. It's basically a must-win game for Clemson, because two of their last three games are on the road, and their one home game is no gimme, because they are playing Virginia Tech.
However, there's no reason to panic. They just had a bad shooting night against FSU. It happens. They should be okay in the long run.
Postseason: NCAA tournament
Virginia Tech (16-11, 7-6)
If the season ended today, Virginia Tech would have a first round bye in the ACC tournament for the third time in four years. Tech upset Maryland 69-65 in College Park on Wednesday, and then defeated Georgia Tech 92-84 in Cassell Coliseum on Saturday. The Hokies were in a slump, but they appear to be back.
During their three-game losing streak, the Hokies were out-rebounded in each game. They've reversed course in their last two games, out-rebounding Maryland 40-36 and Georgia Tech 42-27.
The Hokies take on Boston College on Tuesday night in a game that will be televised by ESPNU. Tech will get the weekend off.
Postseason: NIT or CBI
Maryland (17-11, 7-6)
A week ago, Maryland looked like the hottest team in the ACC and an NCAA tournament lock. This week, not so much. The Terps blew a 14-point lead in a 69-65 home loss to Virginia Tech, then got hammered on the road by Miami 78-63.
Maryland's biggest problem is their bench production, or lack thereof. Their bench did not score at all against Virginia Tech, and managed just four points against Miami. Four of the Terps' five starters played 33+ minutes against Miami. James Gist probably would have played that many had he not gotten in foul trouble.
Maryland is in serious trouble of not making the NCAA tournament. They play at Wake Forest on Thursday, and then host Clemson on Sunday. It will be a make or break week for the Terps.
Postseason: NIT or CBI
Wake Forest (16-9, 6-6)
After upsetting Duke last Sunday, Wake Forest got the week off. They got another chance to pull another huge upset last night, but lost at North Carolina 89-73. Despite the loss, Wake Forest could make a claim to be one of the four best teams in the ACC right now, and they still have a fighting chance for an NCAA tournament spot.
Wake's freshmen continue to perform brilliantly. James Johnson had 22 points and eight rebounds against Carolina, while Jeff Teague had 18 points. With no seniors on their roster, Wake looks like they could be the preseason #3 pick in the ACC next year, or better.
The Demon Deacons host Maryland on Thursday, and then play at Georgia Tech on Saturday. Two wins this week would be huge for their NCAA tournament chances.
Postseason: NIT or CBI
Miami (19-7, 6-6)
Say hello to the new "hottest team in the ACC". Miami has won four in a row. Three of those wins have come against Duke, Virginia Tech and Maryland, all teams in the top half of the league standings. The 'Canes beat Duke 96-95 on Wednesday at home, and then routed Maryland 78-63 on Saturday.
At one point they were competing for last place in the conference with a 2-6 record. Now they are competing for a first round bye. Most importantly, they have a very nice schedule down the stretch.
The 'Canes play at Clemson on Wednesday, and then host Virginia on Saturday. With their overall record and RPI (around 25, depending upon which rating you look at), a .500 mark in ACC play should get them in the NCAA tournament.
Postseason: NCAA tournament
Florida State (16-12, 5-8)
Florida State helped themselves out quite a bit in the last week. First they upset Clemson 64-55, then finished off the week with a 66-63 victory over Boston College on Saturday. Despite a lot of injuries this year, the 'Noles are in decent shape, for the NIT or CBI at least.
Florida State has three games remaining, and although two of them are on the road, they are both winnable. One more win should lock up an NIT or CBI berth for FSU.
The 'Noles travel to NC State on Wednesday, and then take the weekend off.
Postseason: NIT or CBI
Georgia Tech (11-14, 4-7)
Georgia Tech had an interesting week. After preparing all week for a home game against Virginia on Thursday night, the game was postponed due to a leaky roof in Alexander Memorial Coliseum. The Jackets then took to the road, where they lost to Virginia Tech 92-84 on Saturday afternoon.
Georgia Tech is a team that looks good getting off the bus, but they don't play particularly well when they step on the court. They are talented, and they can score points, but their half court defense leaves quite a bit to be desired.
The Jackets play at Duke on Wednesday night, then host Wake Forest on Saturday.
Postseason: None
Boston College (13-12, 4-8)
Two more games, two more losses. The Eagles are not playing good basketball at all. They lost at home to Virginia 79-74, then lost to Florida State 66-63. After starting 3-0 in ACC play, Boston College has lost eight of their last nine games.
BC has three freshmen in the backcourt, and they have a frontcourt that lacks the athleticism needed to play in the ACC. That's a recipe for a team that could end up finishing last in the ACC.
The Eagles travel to Virginia Tech on Tuesday, then host UNC on Saturday.
Postseason: None
NC State (15-12, 4-9)
One team that looks more and more like they can only play well when they are playing Virginia Tech is NC State. The Wolfpack lost at home to UNC 84-70, and then got bombed at last place Virginia 78-60. NC State committed 25 turnovers in their loss to the Hoos.
Barring some kind of a miracle, the NCAA tournament is out of the question for the Wolfpack. They'll make the NIT or CBI if they finish with a winning record, but will they be able to manage that? They have a tough schedule down the stretch.
NC State hosts Florida State on Wednesday and Duke on Saturday.
Postseason: NIT or CBI
Virginia (13-12, 3-9)
Virginia's Thursday night game against Georgia Tech was postponed, and then the Cavs returned home to soundly defeat NC State 78-60. It was their first ACC win against a team not named Boston College this season.
Now that they have a winning record again, the Cavs can start thinking about the postseason.
UVA gets the week off and then plays at Miami on Saturday. Their game with Georgia Tech has been postponed to March 3, which means they'll play four games between March 1 and March 9.
Postseason: None
