Women's Basketball: The Xavier Musketeers crushed the Hokie women's basketball team in Cincinnati, jumping out to a 36-24 half time lead and then cruising to the final margin of victory. The Hokies came out strong in this one, and it was a 13-10 ball game five minutes in, when Tech was dealt a double blow. First, Chrystal Starling picked up her second foul, and a minute later, Tere Williams joined her with two fouls. Both players headed to the bench, and with Tech's two leading scorers out, Xavier started to pull away. The game got ugly at times, with Xavier running the floor and scoring at will. The Musketeers shot 50% for the game, and with two minutes to go and a 24 point lead, they still had their five starters in the game, perhaps making a point to their arch rivals from the south. The Hokies have now lost four of their last five games and are hoping that a return to Cassell Coliseum, where they'll play three of their next four games, will help right the ship. After starting out 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the A-10, Tech is now 13-9, 6-5 in conference. HokieCentral Home Women's Basketball Page
