Explanation and Scoring
Each game, TechSideline.com will award a TechSideline Defensive Player of the Game Award. The award is numbers-based,
not subjective. A player wins the TSL Defensive Player of the Game Award by scoring points for making defensive plays.
Points are awarded according to the following scale:
- Solo Tackle (ST): 2 points
- Assisted Tackle (AT): 1 point
- Tackle for Loss (TFL): 2 points (also gets awarded AT or ST points, for a possible total of 3 or 4 points for a
TFL)
- TFL yards: 0.2 points per yard lost on the tackle
- Sack: 2 points (also gets awarded AT or ST points, plus 2 TFL points, for a possible total of 5 or 6 points for a
sack)
- Interception: 10 points
- Interception yards: 0.1 points per yard
- Pass Defensed (PD): 3 points
- QB Hurry (QBH): 2 points
- Fumble Recovery: 5 points
- Fumble Recovery yards: 0.2 points per yard.
- Forced Fumble: 10 points
- Defensive Touchdown: 20 points
