Hokie Hotline Show, the Day After

  • No real news of any sort came out of Monday night's coaches show. Instead of Frank Beamer being the coach-guest, Ricky Bustle and Bud Foster sat in. Naturally, they were pelted with questions about what happened Saturday, and the coaches did a good job of honestly answering the questions about the game plans and the outcome. After listening to them for an hour, I can report that those two guys are big-time college football coaches. They answered the questions fairly and honestly, giving credit to Syracuse where it was due, and being forthcoming about their players' performance and their own performances when it was required. Check out my game analysis for my take on what happened, liberally sprinkled with Foster's and Bustle's comments.
  • Barring anything unforeseen, freshman defensive end Carl Bradley (Lynchburg) will more than likely take this year as a redshirt. Foster reports that he's really excited about what he's seen out of Bradley, and he thinks he'll be a great player for Tech. I'd still like to see Robert Adams make his test scores and be able to line up with Bradley some day.
