Sunday, December 15th, 1996 Hokies Winning Battle of the Ticket Sales The Roanoke Times reported today that Tech has sold all but 500 of its original allotment of 15,000 tickets, while Nebraska ticket sales are languishing at 5,000 so far. Contrast that with the anticipated 40,000-50,000 fans Florida would have put in that place, and you can see that it's good news, indeed. And remember, that figure doesn't count tickets purchased directly from the Orange Bowl for the event. In anticipation of everybody getting their tickets soon (I got mine in the mail Saturday), I've put a direct link to the Pro Player Stadium chart in my Orange Bowl links above. Good luck on getting good seats!
The Georgia Bulldogs knocked off the basketball team at Cassell Coliseum on Saturday, 60-57. Tech was plagued by poor shooting from the field, going 16-50, including 1-12 from behind the three-point line. Meanwhile, Georgia was going 20-37 and 10-16. It's a testament to Bill Foster's coaching ability and the hustle of the team that they could get outshot like that and still keep it within three points. Next up is a trip to West Virginia on Sunday, December 22nd. WVU has a good record at 3-1, including a 101-79 hammering of Syracuse in the Carrier Dome. |
