Hokies Get Sixth Player from 2005 Top 10 (Todd Nolen Commits) by Will Stewart, TechSideline.com Virginia Tech has pulled off another recruiting coup, landing 4-star wide receiver Todd Nolen out of Hampton High School. Nolen is ranked #6 in the state by TechSideline.com and was the final uncommitted player in the state's Top 30, delaying his signing a week so he could visit Penn State last weekend. The Hokies are now done recruiting for the 2005 class and have a full list of 25 players in the class, including 22 high school seniors and 3 prep players. “The people,” Nolen replied when asked why he chose Virginia Tech. “I felt comfortable there. I really liked the coaching staff. They made me feel like I was a part of a big family.” With a stable of young receivers, the Hokies weren't in need of a WR recruit this year, but they are nonetheless thrilled to land Nolen, who said he will sign later today. Nolen earned first-team all-state honors, making 53 receptions for 1,370 yards and 16 touchdowns this season. He gives Virginia Tech 5 of the top 7 players in the state and 6 of the top 10 as ranked by Techsideline.com. For a complete list of TSL's Top 30 and where they're going, click here.
