For Your Framing Needs, Visit Original Frameworks!
Great VT Collectibles!

Original Frameworks is a quality custom frame shop and art gallery located in Gables Shopping Center, South Main Street, Blacksburg, Va. They've got that beautiful sunset picture of the 1999 BC game, framed or unframed, plus more!

Original Frameworks does not claim to be the "world’s largest framer," like some new to the area, big box stores do. Instead, they are one of Blacksburg’s BEST frame shops. They specialize in museum quality framing, needleart and shadowboxes, framing of diplomas, posters, limited edition art and antique artwork.

Original Frameworks literally has thousands of pieces of art for sale. From Civil War items (autographs, documents, period art, and limited edition prints), antique artwork, posters, work by local artists and of course, the largest collection of Virginia Tech art/memorabilia (including the famous 1999 BC game "sunset" photo) in the area.

Located in Blacksburg and serving the New River Valley since 1987. Visit their website for gallery and service details, directions and special discounts/coupons.

Rashad Carmichael Commits

by Will Stewart, TechSideline.com

The commitments continue to roll in for the Virginia Tech football team, as the Hokies received their fifth commitment in the last nine days, this one from speedy athlete (ATH) Rashad Carmichael from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, MD. Virginia Tech was the first offer for the 5-9, 175-pound Carmichael, who ran a 4.49 at Tech's rising senior camp this past Sunday.

“The biggest thing for me was the education,” Carmichael told TSL's Chris Horne. “I liked when [VT wide receivers] coach [Tony] Ball let me know that most of their players graduate before their senior season even starts. I like that a lot. I like the coaches – coach Ball, coach Ward, coach Beamer. They all showed me a lot of love at the camp. And, again, I always wanted to play in the ACC and I love Virginia Tech.”

Carmichael played cornerback for Gwynn Park and led the team in interceptions as a junior with five, despite not even being a starter on a talented Gwynn Park team. He will start at corner as a senior and will probably play some wide receiver as well. Despite the attention from Tony Ball, Carmichael is expected to play corner for the Hokies. He says he will redshirt.

Carmichael is VT's fifth commitment for the 2006 recruiting class, with all commitments coming in the month of July, and all five of them being from different states. So far on VT's list of commitments for the 2006 recruiting class, the states of Ohio (Clark Crum), Maryland (Carmichael), Virginia (Daryl Robertson), North Carolina (Jacob Sykes) and New Jersey (Mike Gee) are represented.

For more on Carmichael's commitment, including additional comments from Rashad, see Chris Horne's TSL Pass recruiting update.
