LB Matt Wright and FB Devven Sutton Commit to VT

At 6-2, 215 pounds, Wright earned AP first-team all-state honors for his senior season performance. He earned VHSCA second-team all-state honors as well. A 3-star recruit, he is rated the #11 overall prospect in the state by TechSideline.com.

Various sources are also reporting that VT has gained a commitment from 6-1, 237-pound fullback/inside linebacker Devven Sutton. The Northeastern (Elizabeth City, N.C.) standout chose the Hokies over East Carolina.

Sutton was named to the NC/SC Shrine Bowl for his senior season performance. According to Northeastern head coach Antonio Moore, he could play fullback or linebacker on the next level but is being recruited by Tech more as a fullback.

Sutton will delay his entry to VT and will enroll at Virginia Tech in January 2007, a practice called "grey-shirting."
