The commitments just don't stop for the Virginia Tech Hokies - especially along the offensive line. Manchester (Midlothian, VA) OL Khalil Latif, who is rated the #13 player in the state by TechSideline.com, decided to join the party today when he committed to Tech. The 6-3, 290-pound Latif is the fifth offensive line recruit to commit to Virginia Tech in the 2007 recruiting class. "He's heading to Virginia Tech," Manchester head coach Tom Hall said. Latif made his first ever visit to Tech this past Friday. "I think it was always in the back of his mind. When he visited there on Friday, he just felt at home. He felt the most comfortable there. Also, they are building one of the top recruiting classes in the country. The facilities are second to none. His friend John Graves goes there, so I think that had something to do with it as well. Latif is the 18th player to commit to the Hokies for the 2007 recruiting class, the 16th in the month of July. His commitment gives the Hokies yet another top in-state talent at offensive line, as he joins Hylton's Will Alvarez, Denbigh's Jaymes Brooks and Clover Hill's Blake DeChristopher. Alvarez and DeChristopher are projected as offensive tackles while Brooks and Latif are projected as offensive guards. Out-of-stater Kyle Nunn, projected as an offensive tackle, rounds out what is currently a five-man class of offensive linemen.
