Barber, listed at 6-0, 200 pounds, is the brother of former Hokie free safety Willie Pile. Due to a growing numbers crunch with scholarships, the Hokies have requested that Barber enroll in either January 2008 or January 2009. Barber thinks he may be able to make it early. "I called Coach Bud Foster last Wednesday and said I wanted to come," Barber said. "Basically, they just have a numbers situation. They are looking for some guys who commit to come in this coming January or next January. I told him I have my classes in order to come in this January, so when I sign on the dotted line I'll be coming this January." If Barber is unable to come to Tech in January 2008, he will explore other options. Barber, who racked up 54 receptions for 1,034 yards and 12 touchdowns at wide receiver last season as a junior, was moved to quarterback this season. He has led Edison to a 7-1 record so far this season after helping the Eagles to a Northern Region, Division 5 Championship last season. For more details on the
timing of Barber's enrollment, and his comments on his situation, please
