OL/DL Nick Becton Commits to VT
Virginia Tech scored another key commitment from the state of North Carolina Sunday, when massive OL/DL prospect Nick Becton (6-6, 290 and growing) verbaled to the Hokies. "I committed to Virginia Tech," said a relieved and excited Becton, whose primary recruiter from Tech is Charley Wiles. "I called the coaches today around noon and told them. They seemed real excited. They said they look forward to having me there." Becton is the 23rd commitment for Tech's 2008 recruiting class, and he joins fellow North Carolinians Butler (Matthews) standout WR Jarrett Boykin, Butler standout CB Eddie Whitley, Northeast Guilford (McLeansville) OL Michael Via and Westover (Fayetteville) CB Lorenzo Williams. Rivals.com ranks Becton the #18 player in the state of North Carolina. The Hokies now have four of the top 22 players in the state, per Rivals. Becton had a long offer list, including offers from Alabama, Penn State, Clemson, and South Carolina. For more comments from
Becton on his commitment to VT, including where the Hokies project him to play,
