QB Joseph "Ju-Ju" Clayton Commits to VT

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from Hermitage High School (Richmond, VA) quarterback Joseph "Ju-Ju" Clayton on Wednesday afternoon. Clayton took his official visit to Blacksburg over the weekend and enjoyed it, took a couple of days to make a decision, and ultimately decided on the Hokies.

Clayton is not a highly-touted prospected. The Hokies beat out Army, William & Mary and Youngstown State for his services. Despite his lack of scholarship offers, the Tech coaching staff liked what they saw out of the 6-2, 205 signal caller.

Clayton enjoyed an outstanding senior season. He completed 153-of-255 passes for 2,117 yards. He threw 22 touchdown passes and had nine interceptions, leading Hermitage to a regional championship.
