Hokies Sign 31 to Letters of Intent

Virginia Tech signed a whopping 31 players to national Letters of Intent (LOIs), the most ever signed by Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech. The class included 22 signees from the state of Virginia, also a record for Beamer at Tech.

There were no surprises on signing day, as the Hokies received LOIs from all 30 committed players, plus they picked up a signing day commitment from defensive tackle Leon Mackey out of Hargrave Military Academy.

The class is highlighted by four of the top five players in the state as ranked by TSL, and five of the top ten:

• #1 OL Vinston Painter
• #2 WR Dyrell Roberts
• #3 RB Ryan Williams
• #4 WR D.J. Coles
• #9 QB Marcus Davis

The class included players at every position but fullback:

• QB: 2
• RB: 2
• WR: 7
• TE: 1
• OL: 2
• DT: 2
• DE: 3
• LB: 7
• CB: 3
• S: 1
• JATH: 1
