DE Tariq Edwards Commits to VT by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com Marlboro County High School (Bennettsville, SC) standout Tariq Edwards has become the 12th Virginia Tech football commitment for the 2009 recruiting class. Edwards is a linebacker and the son of former Virginia Tech wide receiver Bo Campbell. He chose the Hokies over offers from Clemson, Duke, Illinois, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, UVA and Vanderbilt. He is a 6-4, 225-lbs defensive end prospect. He is expected to grayshirt and enroll in January of 2010. On offense, Edwards plays wide receiver and tight end for Marlboro County. On defense he is a linebacker for his high school, though he could end up at defensive end at the college level. He is ranked the #19 player in the state of South Carolina by Rivals.com. Tariq's twin brother, Tyrell, also has an offer from Virginia Tech. He has yet to make a decision.
