Aromire Verbals to Virginia Tech
by Chris Coleman, TechSideline.com, TSLMail #437, June 18, 2010

Virginia Tech received their fourth commitment of the 2011 recruiting class on Friday, when H.D. Woodson (Washington, DC) cornerback Adeboye Aromire made his decision. He chose the Hokies over scholarship offers from Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina and West Virginia.

At 6-0, 190, Aromire has excellent size for a cornerback. He also has the versatility to play either free safety or rover in Virginia Tech's system. The coaching staff recruited him as a cornerback. Aromire is physical around the line of scrimmage, and is expected to play the boundary cornerback position before his career is over.

"Virginia Tech was the only school of the ones that had offered to go to several BCS Bowl games recently," Aromire told TSL recruiting analyst Chris Horne. "I'm going to play defensive back and they have a history of developing defensive backs. Bud Foster is a great defensive coordinator. He is wanted by a plethora of college teams. I'm comfortable with the Hokie nation. I thought it was the best fit for me, academically and athletically."

While playing for Bud Foster is certainly an important factor, Aromire's visit for the Spring Game back in April also made a huge impact on his recruitment.

"I left feeling pumped about the atmosphere and the relationship between the players and the coaches," Aromire said. "I loved the fans, the facilities and the people in the town. Even the spectators knew who I was when I was there."

Aromire was the high school teammate of current Virginia Tech true freshman quarterback Ricardo Young. He plans to graduate high school early and enroll at Virginia Tech in January of 2011.

Crunching the Numbers on an ACC Network
June 17, 2010
One of the biggest driving forces in the latest round of conference expansion and realignment was the lucrative Big Ten Network. Launched in 2007, the BTN has been wildly successful and is projected to pay Big Ten member schools about $6.5 million each in 2009-10. That begs the question: can the ACC do its own network? Before you answer yes or no, take a look at the numbers.
